Nashville’s Take on European Cafe Culture
The Hermitage Hotel’s Pink Hermit
7 July, 2023 / the hot and sticky Friday evening that The Pink Hermit made its reimagined debut at The Hermitage Hotel on the unsuspecting corner of 6th Avenue. At 5:15 pm, the air is tinged with champagne and guests are spilling out onto the sidewalk — an inducing promise of a good time.
Taking up residence on the fringes of downtown Nashville’s hottest scene, Jean-George Vongerichten’s latest concept nods to the café cluttered streets of Southern Europe, evoking the essence of “la buvette”.
As any self-respecting twenty-somethings would, the three of us girls ate our way through the evening. From world-class wines, baked olives, and rustic bread, burrata bruschettas and sun-gold tomato pizzas for the table, to citrus-laced salads for grazing (and *balance*), to desserts dangerously capable of arousing that second stomach, there wasn’t a bite we didn’t enjoy. Whatever you do, order the halved figs that float on a cloudy bed of fresh ricotta, kissed with salty honey (you can thank us later).
Just 5 minutes from our downtown office, it’s safe to say the Grain girls have found our new go-to for a workday luncheon, after-office-hours drink, or weekend soirée. Pink really is the color of the moment. 😉 Here, here to the newest slice of Nashville’s metropolitan future.
